EU right to repair law
The European Union has taken a further step toward implementing Right to Repair laws, with the latest vote backing proposals regarding repairability, and adding a requirement that manufacturers increase the warranty periods.
Proposals for Right to Repair legislation have been working through the EU’s political process since 2020, but a major element has now passed a plenary vote.
In preparation of this voting, I was honoured to host the ‘right to repair workshop’ on the EU consumer summit 2022 in the EU parlement in Strassburg.
We have to change the way we produce, use and dispose of our everyday products. Designing products and services that are good for the planet and for people, locally but also globally, is also what we aim for in the Active8-Planet project.
