The moment we’ve all been waiting is here – the 4th issue of Active8-Planet newsletter is out!
In the first article you can read about the Active8-Planet card game, a board game that was designed and produced in our project. It is a fun game with a deeper message – we all need to activate ourselves, become a PLANETEER and help save the planet! It is a quick and easy-to-learn game that provides not only fun for your family and friends, but also educate about sustainability and our planet.
In the interview with Giulia Sinatti you can read about designing a new Master’s Track based on the Experience in Active8-Planet. You can find out more about Senior Teaching Qualification (STQ), reluctance among students to sign up for anthropology, collaboration with stakeholders, connection to the EPIC conference etc.
If you want to know if anthropologists and engineers can work together, then the interview with Robert Podlipnik from the company Endava is the one to read. And by the way, it was written by Anuša Babuder, one of the students from the first Active8-Planet learning cycle.
If you’re still not convinced about the role of anthropologists in our world, then you must read the article Why The World Needs Anthropologists: From a question mark to an exclamation point. It provides with some background information about the WWNA movement that has begun almost a decade ago.
If you are reading this sitting in your office, wishing you could be traveling somewhere, you can join Active8-Planet on the journey to the Land of the Thunder Dragon, otherwise known as the Kingdom of Bhutan. Two members of the Active8-Planet that also work on another Erasmus Plus project have presented the aim of our project in the only carbon-neutral country in the world! Check the photo-story from our trip.
And last, but not least, the Belgium team presents their new Active8-Planet challenge – how can ‘Urban Mining’ promote circularity. Don’t know what Urban Mining is? Even more reasons to read the article.

We are excited to share with you our first Active8-Planet newsletter! In this first issue, you can discover how two anthropologists and people-centred enthusiasts, Ellen Bal and Dan Podjed, understand the planet-centred development approach and how this plays and important role in the Active8-Planet project. If you are interested in autonomous future mobilities, you shouldn’t miss the article by Vaike Fors about the long-lasting collaboration between researchers from Halmstad University and developers at Volvo cars. If you want to know more about a new higher education transformation that is happening at EU policy level, then you must read our interview with Joerg Niehoff, who is the policy coordinator for University-Business cooperation at the European Commission.
